Tesco,
Bridgend

M J Coles was awarded a large format project which included management of the whole project. We supplied trained in-house trade teams to carry out groundworks, terrazzo flooring, shop fit out, decoration, drainage, and resurfacing and line marking to the car park.

Tesco Bridgend was the first store in the UK to have new glass door refrigeration cabinets installed. This meant installing new underground drainage throughout the store in phased works while the store was live, including terrazzo repairs and a full diamond polish to the internal sales floor. It also involved the relocation of the click and collect area, which meant forming a new collection lane within the car park, and relocation of the dot com van charging areas – forming an extension to the dot com warehouse within the store and full decorations inside and out.

M J Coles completed this project on time and within budget.

Argos,
Reading

MJC completed the installation of drainage and a petrol interceptor for a car wash across various Argos sites throughout the country.

This involved installing deep catchment pits and uplifting pavement, resulting in resurfacing, forming a new path, new ACO drainage, and a new car wash pad, allowing Argos to be able to clean their vans on site.

MJC delivered this project on time and on budget.

NHS,
Tamworth

MJC was commissioned to complete drainage and groundwork installation on a derelict building refurbishment for a new NHS building.

This involved the installation of all new drainage work including manholes and gullies, an attenuation tank, storm and foul pumping systems, and adaptions into the highway for the local council. We then completed surfacing and landscaping works including tarmacking, curbs, local services, and general landscaping repairs. We also reinstated all internal flooring including timber and concrete.

MJC delivered this project on time and on budget.

Tesco, HFSS (High Fat Salt Sugar) project

HFSS (High Fat Salt Sugar) was a high-profile government-backed project involving 90+ Tesco stores with an aim to minimise the amount of high fat, salt, and sugar products the public are subjected to as they enter a store.

As a result, all the high-fat, salt, and sugar products were moved beyond a minimum of a 15-metre radius of the store’s entrance.  This involved the movement of various shelving, Costa Coffee machines, and Krispy Crème units which resulted in terrazzo floor repairs, extensive plumbing, and general decorations of these new areas.

MJC completed this project of 90+ stores to budget and within the three-month deadline. We were then awarded the HFSS Phase 2 project of approximately 60 stores which involved the installation of new snacking fridges at the front of each store. This required fixture and shelving movements, resulting in new electrical supplies and new infill panels to the redundant space. These were also completed on time and within budget.
